What is Company Bound?

Company Bound is an accelerated and invitation-only program led by Ericka Shannon. We crafted this program for dancers who are ready for a more focused classroom atmosphere where they are provided more challenging choreography and technique so that they can be the best they can be.

Company Bound dancers are chosen through their performance in classes, recital observation at the end of each season, and through an audition process conducted in the Spring.

Class requirements for Company Bound Dancer’s include weekly ballet and jazz classes. Dancers are also required to participate in intensives and classes at The Neighborhood Ballet throughout the Summer in order to further enhance and diversify their dance training.

While Company Bound is not part of our youth company, Rise City Dance, it is a great stepping stone for those dancers who may be interested in our performing company in the future. They will also be a part of Rise City Dance's Holiday Spectacular and Spring Concert programs, giving them additional performing opportunities throughout the year.

Company Bound Class Requirements

  • Two ballet classes and one jazz class per week during season fall and spring sessions.

  • Enrollment in Neighborhood Ballet's summer classes and Company Bound Intensives.

    • Company Bound dancers are required to take at least two summer intensives at Neighborhood Ballet. If your dancer takes the June intensives, they will take twice weekly afternoon classes in July. If your dancer takes the July intensives, they will take twice weekly afternoon classes in the month of June. If you cannot do any intensives, you will take weekly classes in June and July. If your dancer does two intensives in June and two in July, they will not need to take weekly summer classes.
