RISE CITY DANCE

RISE CITY DANCE

Rise City Dance is the official youth, pre-professional company of Neighborhood Ballet. At RCD, we believe in elevating technique, nurturing creativity and expression, and preparing our dancers not only for incredible dance careers, but providing them with valuable tools that will serve them everywhere life takes them.

  • Dancers train in a variety of styles between 5-15 hours a week (dependent upon age and company level). Our curriculum makes for a well rounded dance education with attention to technique, artistry, creative expression, and stage presence. We pride ourselves on creating and inspiring a uplifting, encouraging, and positive studio environment for our dancers to thrive and become the very best they can be as dancers and people!

  • Rise City Dancers participate in the Spring Recital, Holiday Spectacular, and Spring Concert every season. In addition to these incredible performances, dancers are offered other unique opportunities such as performing at the High Museum and other distinguished ATL dance and arts spaces.

  • The intention of our Teaching Assistantship Program is to provide dancers with hands on training to gain experience and learn what it means to lead a class of young dancers. In this program, dancers will learn from Neighborhood Ballet faculty, be considered for paid positions, and gain real world experience that can prepare them for future teaching positions or serve as foundational experience for their resumes.

  • In addition to offering exceptional training, we strive to provide our dancers with educational experiences outside of the studio such as attending shows and performances in the city. We also schedule various workshops throughout the year to cover important topics such as: injury prevention, goal + intention setting, and community building through teamwork. We aim to provide resources and opportunities that contribute to the dancer as a whole person, not just a technician.
