Junior Performing Company
Junior Performing Company is an accelerated and invitation-only program led by Emily Streit. We crafted this program for dancers who are ready for a more focused classroom atmosphere where they are provided more challenging choreography and technique so that they can be the best they can be.
Junior Performing Company dancers are chosen through their performance in classes, recital observation at the end of each season, and through an audition process conducted in the Spring. This program is most suitable for dancers 5-10 years old.

Junior Performing Company dancers are required to take multiple classes per week during the season, dependent upon their level. Junior Performing Company consists of four levels: Opal, Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald. Dancers are placed according to age and ability.

In addition to our regular season, Junior Performing Company dancers have summer requirements so that they can keep sharpening their technique and maintain momentum with their training. Summer training also exposes Junior Performing Company dancers to a wider range of dance styles and incredible guest faculty!

Junior Performing Company dancers are offered special performance opportunities in addition to the annual Spring Recital! Each Junior Performing Company level gets a special role in Rise City Dance’s Holiday Spectacular as well as the Spring Concert. These additional performance opportunities help dancers explore their artistry and improve their stage presence!

While our Junior Performing Company is not part of our youth company, Rise City Dance, it is a great stepping stone for those dancers who may be interested in our performing company in the future. With the additional training of our Junior Performing Company program, dancers are prepared to join Rise City Dance where they will unlock new dance dreams and be provided with the tools to achieve them!

Our Junior Performing Company is open to dancers 5-10 years. During the Spring semester, we hold an audition open to all dancers within this age range. Current JPC dancers are also required to audition for placement each season. Placement is then determined for the following season as well as summer intensive offerings.
