What parents say

From Neighborhood Ballet families.

“

My oldest attended a summer camp 6 years ago as a 4 year old and now she is in the jr company! We love the teachers and the community of Neighborhood Ballet!

“

No pressure, simply a large amount of support from people who actually care. I consider us lucky to have such a dance school in our neighborhood.

Classes each week
Multiple classes, based on level

JPC dancers take multiple classes per week during the season, depending on their level.

Six levels
Opal, Amethyst, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, and Diamond

Dancers are placed according to age and ability.

Performances
More than the Spring Recital

JPC dancers are offered special performance opportunities in addition to the annual Spring Recital. Each level also has a special role in Rise City Dance’s Holiday Spectacular and Spring Concert. These extra chances help dancers explore their artistry and build stage presence.

Summer training
Keep the momentum going

JPC dancers have summer requirements so they can keep sharpening technique. Summer also brings a wider range of dance styles and guest faculty.

The audition
Open to dancers in the age range

Each spring we hold an audition open to all dancers generally ages 5 to 10. Teachers often recommend dancers who may be ready. Placement is decided for the following season and summer. Current JPC dancers audition for placement each season. Placement is not guaranteed and depends on a dancer’s readiness at audition.

What comes after JPC
A stepping stone

JPC is a Neighborhood Ballet program and is not part of Rise City Dance, our separate nonprofit youth company. It is a strong foundation for dancers who may be interested in Rise City Dance later. When a dancer is ready, Rise City Dance may invite them to join. An invitation is never guaranteed, and only Rise City Dance decides.
