Hear from Our Dancers

  • Lucy, Neighborhood and Rise City Dancer

Neighborhood Ballet and Rise City have both had major impacts on my life. They’ve taught me so many life lessons and have affected not only my dancing, but the rest of my life too. I think one of the biggest things i’ve learned while dancing here is discipline. At RCD and Neighborhood, you learn to how to manage responsibilities independently. This has had a large impact on all areas of my life and taught me to appreciate everything. The only thing that I love more than the learning that happens here, is the community. At RCD, I found my family. Everyone here is so incredibly supportive of one another, and we all push each other to be the best we can be. The teachers are no exception. The staff at Neighborhood Ballet and RCD are insane. They’re all amazing dancers and they’re some of the kindest people you will ever meet. Rise City and Neighborhood Ballet have both been huge parts of my life and i’m honored to be a part of this incredible family.

  • Eleanor, Neighborhood Ballet and Rise City Dancer

Neighborhood Ballet has been a massive part of my life. Dancing is an important art form to me and at Neighborhood Ballet I am cared for, pushed, and have a supportive community I have never found any where else. Neighborhood Ballet cherishes each dancer and takes the time and effort to get to know them. We all put in the effort of not only trying to be amazing dancers but also being an amazing community I have made lifelong friends and progressed in my skills tremendously with Neighborhood Ballet.

  • Kate, Neighborhood Ballet and Rise City Dancer

Neighborhood Ballet and Rise City Dance have a large presence in my life. I not only receive wonderful dance training, but also have many opportunities for leadership and an amazing group of friends. Because of the company I have learned so much, not only about dance, but important skills for life as well. Through classes and the teacher training program, I have developed discipline in order to maintain my school and rehearsal schedule. The teachers at Neighborhood Ballet have had amazing professional careers and can push us to the highest levels of dance while also giving us contacts in the dance world. They are also caring teachers who get to know us and support us. Through Neighborhood Ballet, I have learned how to handle important roles on stage, how to behave in a production, and how to teach a ballet class. Learning how to teach is especially important because it has given me a possible future career that I already know I enjoy. This studio has not only helped me grow as a dancer but also as a person.

And hear from their grown ups.

Amanda

NEIGHBORHOOD BALLET AND RISE CITY PARENT

Neighborhood Ballet is a supportive space for a dancer to discover and grow a life long relationship with healthy minds and bodies. Rebecca is very intentional about creating a sense of community among the dancers. My daughter is part of the junior company and her technique and creative expressions have improved through weekly lessons, special workshops, and summer camps. She enjoys the interaction with senior dancers and opportunities to be a mentor to younger dancers. All of the teachers are amazing, patient, and devoted to passing the joy of dancing to students no matter where they are on their dance journey.

NEIGHBORHOOD BALLET AND RISE CITY PARENT

Neighborhood Ballet has become my daughter's home away from home, a place where she feels loved and supported. Her teachers are passionate and dedicated to developing her technical ability and love of dance, as well as reinforcing the importance working hard and being committed to the team as a whole. As a parent, am always amazed at the level of production this young school and their young dancers are able to achieve. It's truly a special place.

Cannot overstate the joy Neighborhood Ballet has brought to our family's life through my daughter's new found love of dancing there. The staff is caring and focused on dancers' artistic development and joy of dancing. My daughter is receiving world-class training with a cohort of other dancers and with teachers who want to see her succeed, excel, and be happy. Neighborhood Ballet is a very special place.

NEIGHBORHOOD BALLET PARENT

We love Neighborhood Ballet! My 3 year old takes Creative Movement and is constantly showing us moves he learns in class at home. The staff is kind and creative. We couldn't be happier to have this professional, nurturing ballet school in our neighborhood.

Mark

NEIGHBORHOOD BALLET AND RISE CITY PARENT

Our son has been attending classes for sometime now and we don’t see him stopping anytime soon. From what I can tell (since we aren’t allowed in the studio to watch ) - they have really enabled him to gain confidence in his dancing, and good guidance at a pace that he takes very well.

He ALWAYS comes out of class feeling really great and happy - and his dancing has progressed positively since he’s been attending. The instructors and staff have always been very accommodating and communicative - even when I have to email and ask for clarification on any of the scheduling or other processes (I’m getting the hang of how this dance dad job works okay )

I absolutely recommend this studio and their instructors.

Britta

NEIGHBORHOOD BALLET PARENT

We are so very grateful for the amazing team at Neighborhood Ballet! Like no other business I know, Neighborhood Ballet has constantly and carefully adjusted programming in the ever changing environment during the pandemic.

Our daughter had been taking ballet classes here for several years now with great passion. Teachers, office admin and leadership are exceptional.

Also celebrated several wonderful bday parties there. Being part of the Nutcracker productions has been a magical experience for our little dancer.

In short, we highly recommend the studio!
